Stardust Merry Widow

The “Merry Widow” is quintessential 1950's shapewear. It is a low-backed strapless bra combined with a strict waist-cincher; and the result is the perfect foundation for wearing under the tight-bodiced, full skirted gowns that were fashionable in the 1950's and early 1960's. This piece was patterned from Bernie's vintage 1952 Warner's merry widow. The original Warner's version was featured in the 1952 film of the same name. We kept all of the original features, recreating the same fit while changing the lace fabric for a beautiful glitter print fabric fully lined in black power net. It is a strapless with underwire balconette cups, the tops of the cups are sheer. The bodice is reinforced with spiral metal boning along the front, sides and back. Power net panels at the side and back allow for the necessary stretch and the ribbon waistband sewn inside the garment cinches in the waist creating the classic hourglass figure. It closes with 2 rows of hook and eye down the back. This garment comes with six detachable garters with ribbon, and there are loops on the garment for 8 garters. We suggest the pack of 4 detachable garters if you wish to add. As a fashion item, this can be worn on its' own, just pair with a sexy skirt and cute jacket. The cup on this garment best fits a C/D or D/DD. (XS= 30 D/DD 32 C/D, S=32 D/DD 34 C/D, M= 34 D/DD 36 C/D, L= 36 D/DD 38 C/D).
